A moving boat and five fish
The boat travels between positions 9 and 91 at the original speed. Five fish appear across the water. Lower the hook when a fish is beneath the boat: the catch window is ten lane units, and the closest eligible fish is selected.
A drop freezes the boat and lasts 880 milliseconds. Afterwards the boat resumes its route. A caught fish is removed, and the school is replenished when fewer than four fish remain.
The original score calculation
Each catch starts with the species value shown in the atlas. Closer alignment adds a rounded bonus: eight points for each of the ten remaining lane units, up to 80 points for an exact alignment.
A consecutive catch adds 26 more streak points than the previous catch, capped at 130. An empty hook resets the streak and leaves the accumulated score unchanged. A Bluegill caught exactly in lane on the first drop earns 85 + 80 = 165 points.
Original fish probabilities
The original selection first checks a 2% trophy band, then a 10% rare band, then a 40% midwater band. The remaining 48% selects a common fish. Species within each band are chosen at random.
These are fictional game probabilities. They do not describe a real fishing location, ecological abundance or conservation status.
Complete, save and replay
After six drops, press SAVE LOCAL SCORE to open the final panel. Enter a name of up to sixteen characters, then press SAVE. The game retains the five highest scores in this browser.
START NEW VOYAGE resets the score, drops and streak for another round. The original game has no pause button or pause shortcut; the boat continues moving while the page is active. Keyboard actions ignore an input or button that already has focus.
